I am a retired medical defect technician that repairs and tests electronics occasionally brought to me in my spare time.
This item is functional, it has been tested with a air bladder to make sure that the pressure builds and holds, also the alternating and time functions work once filled, the power alarm also works if power failure happens.
I'm not affiliated with hillrom nor have I ever done warranty repair with them, I did not open this device it was only tested and operates as it should to the best of my knowledge with medical equipment and this devices purpose.
Any required repair after use should be directed to hillrom as anyone other than them will void warranty if the warranty remains.
Understand that you will need to obtain the mattress and appropriate tubing from HillRom.com.
